Coworking is all about the right people.
And to us, finding the right people isn’t about finding one type of people and sticking with that. We want to gather a fun, inspiring mix of different personalities, talents, and areas of expertise who will challenge our thinking every day.
Today’s coworking is dominated by information workers, because they aren’t tied to one location but can easily work from anywhere. If you are one, you are of course welcome to Coworking Helsinki! You will find many like-minded entrepreneurs, freelancers, and telecommuters to work next to.
But our dream is that some day, coworking can become even more mainstream and bridge the gaps between people working in different fields: just imagine the innovation power that could come from bringing together a software guy and an electrician, or a writer and a store clerk. So, whatever your work, if you feel you could use the coworking space for something, come check us out! The outcome can surprise you.
No Cubicles
Here’s how a coworking space can help you meet new people and cultivate creativity and innovation. (Keep in mind that everything is work in progress, as we don’t have the space yet…)
- A café-like environment: When having your morning coffee and bagel, you’re supposed to be interrupted from your own thoughts. People sit to each other’s tables to chat about their work, life, and ideas. You can meet new people every day, or build a stronger tie to the regulars you meet every day.
- Shared space: The whole day cannot be spent in café mode if you want to be productive. But in a coworking space, you find a middle ground: we don’t have cubicles. You sit at a long table next to someone working on a totally unrelated project, or at a shared table with a coworker working on the same thing as you are. When you get stuck and need ideas from someone with a fresh outlook on your work, you have a room full of inspiration around you.
- Meeting areas: When your discussion grows longer and you need to chat about something in more detail without keeping others from working, you can hop into a meeting room for a while. A meeting room is also a great place to meet with clients and business partners.
